Fitty Shades of Love and Destruction

Curtis Jackson, otherwise known as 50 Cent, allegedly did an amazing amount of damage in an apparent lover’s quarrel on June 23^rd. Authorities with the Los Angeles Police Dept. responded to a call that ended with the 37-year old rapper and actor being charged with four counts of vandalism and one count of domestic violence in a dispute with his ex-girlfriend that is his reputed baby-mama. The woman was not identified in the Fox News article. Destruction to property is estimated at $7,100.

On my best day, I was never able to destroy more than, say, five hundred. Hats off to Fitty.

One must wonder what drives a man to kick in the door to the bathroom where the woman was attempting to seek refuge, then physically kick her and evidently rage on the condo where she lived. When police arrived, furniture was damaged, television knocked to the floor, contents of a bedroom closet ransacked, and chandeliers broken.

Seriously? Chandeliers? Who in their right mind would attack a chandelier?

Fitty is famous for his music, drug references in songs, and having survived nine, yes, nine gunshot wounds in an attempted murder. Interestingly enough, he is said to neither smoke nor drink alcohol — a conundrum to be sure.

50 Cent has an arraignment scheduled for July 22^nd. He’s looking at a possible five years in jail and up to $46,000 in fines. But, considering his celebrity status, what are the chances he will actually see any punishment at all.
